So a while back, I found the on line “community bookmark manager”, delicious. Basically any site you find, you could bookmark to delicious, as you would with your browser, however the advantage is that if you were away from your computer, you could still access your bookmarks. Also, it employs the use of “tags”, that is, a description of the bookmark. Using that concept, you could find other sites that relate to the “tag”. It’s a good idea, and anyone can check it out, but I was turned onto a script , Scuttle, that allows an individual or group of individuals to create their own “community bookmark manager”.I created a page that gives a RSS feed of the 15 most current, but I’m thinking about changing that to a random list. If anyone else would be interested in “joining” my bookmark manager, drop me a line, either via a comment, or the contact page. I am toying with the idea of changing its CSS to look more like this site, and simply allow anyone to look through the bookmarks. But it’s definitely just a project, with no real time table. Again, if you’re interested, let me know.

*EDIT- I have opted back to my original look, as I wasn’t happy with where things were. I may simply change a few things with this look, mainly the header image.
Pardon the dust, but I’ve switched over to a custom designed theme. It’s more of a cobbling together of ideas from other themes, than a totally custom design, aside from the header image, that is. The boxes on the side bar are from the travelogue theme, and I’ve probably hacked some other stuff without even realizing it, lord knows I looked under the hood at a dozen or so themes before starting this one. So if you have any issues, please comment in this thread. I may add a theme switcher, so if viewers totally hate it, they can swap to another look. Thanks for stopping by, and looking around.
Spent quite some time cleaning things up a bit around here. Got the site totally xhtml valid again, cleaned up the sidebar (was getting a little garish from all the plugins) and generally tightened up the site.
I added a couple of pages (another ego stroke, as I had to completely rewrite the default theme template, little by little I’m understanding PHP and the structure of wordpress). I’ve done away with the del.icio.us links, as I’ve added my very own quasi-version in the form of Scuttle. I still very well may add a links page in the form of recent surfing , or the like, but in the meantime, I’ll just add those that really meet the mark to the sidebar. I even used Kalsey’s button maker to make the custom buttons for the various validation in the sidebar.
Got to love insomnia.
Well, I’ve been slowly updating the sidebar, rearranging the order, added the recent visitor plugin as well as the recent del.icio.us links. If you are not familiar with Del.icio.us, they call themselves a “social bookmark manager”. Basically, it allows you to book mark a site while you are surfing, and then access the bookmark via the net, versus just the browser. Therefore, if you use multiple browsers, or are away from your machine, you can still find the site. Likewise, you can share them via a RSS feed. So, I just started using it, but ultimately, it will show the most recent. The default is 15, and once I reach that number, I’ll see how it looks in the sidebar, and decide if I want to add more. I’m really thinking about changing the header, any feedback about the current one?
I am on a quest to research some of those 139 Wordpress themes over at Alex Kings site, and weave together a side bar I like. Not that anyone is visiting yet, but by god, when they do, it will be snazzy. I really want to change the header image as well, the image is just a little, well, blurry.
